Heroes (the full subtitle was Heroes: The World's Greatest Super Hero Creators Honor the World's Greatest Heroes 9 11 2001), published by Marvel Comics in December, 2001, was the first 9/11 comic book tribute to reach newsstands. It would establish a pattern that would be followed by the other publishers, in that it gave creators to make any statement they wanted about the topic in one or two pages. It was in full color magazine format.
